On of my favourite food destinations this summer has been the beach restaurant at Port Manec’h. We first headed out in this direction back during the Easter holidays, and discovered the beach the day before the cafe was about to re-open for the summer season. This summer trip, La Châtaigneraie was firmly on my bucket list, and we luckily we managed to clock up a couple of visits.
The first was while Helen and Matthew were staying with us, when we tested out the crepes (big thumbs up for the nutella version!) on a warm afternoon after taking a dip.
The second trip was during my family’s visit, when we all squeezed into the car and headed there for lunch on a day when the weather was not looking so promising. However in true Breton style, as the tide turned, we were greeted with warm sunny weather and even managed to crash on the beach after our indulgent (as always!) lunch.
The burger rated 5 stars with the kids, the oriental tuna (dish of the day) was a big hit with the adults…….
The desserts speak for themselves…….
The view from the terrace is superb……
and the beach is a great place to unwind…….
Head there before the summer ends (officially mid September), or at least keep it on your lunch list for next year (open from Easter onwards 2013)
