the easter break, day 11

10th April 2012

The Ville Close, Concarneau

The Ville Close is the original Medieval hub of the town of Concarneau.  Traditionally a centre of shipbuilding, the walled fortress island is now devoted to shops and restaurants for the tourists.  However many beautiful elements remain, and as the area has developed over the years it has been kept tasteful as well as quaint, and is well worth a visit.

It’s one of our favourite hang out places during unsettled weather or when we are in need some retail therapy! (and there is a great Fishing Museum for the kids!)
